Phoenix Train Control System
The Phoenix Train Control System is an advanced, “point and click” graphical user interface based train control system. It provides visual display unit based control of large areas of signalling equipment along with facilities for: long route setting, route storage, vital and non-vital blocking, event logging, train reporting and a flexible interface to the interlockings.

Microlok Interlocking Simulation System

Wayside signalling and control systems typically consist of vital control logic, non-vital control logic and data transmission, and track circuits. These wayside control elements historically have been implemented with relays and later with dedicated electronic components.

Depending upon the particular application, wayside control systems could be quite complex with large quantities of relays and/or electronic components wired into wayside bungalows and control cases.

To simplify wayside control system installations while increasing their capabilities, flexibility and economy of installation and operation, Ansaldo STS has consolidated vital and non-vital control logic, data transmission and coded track circuits into a single package with the Microlok® II Wayside Control System.

Automatic Train Protection (ATP)
Ansaldo STS is the supplier for the ATSS Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system in the Asia-Pacific region. ATP is speed and distance supervision, which intervenes and deploys emergency brakes as a last measure if the driver of a train fails to react to information given from optical signals and/or speed information in the wayside system. ATP is given permitted speed and location information from the track by encoded transponder(s), encoded track circuit or, more recently, by radio. The ATP on-board equipment is used in conjunction with railway trackside equipment such as speedboards and signalling system, to maintain and increase the safety of the trains, and also to increase the capacity of the railway system. The L12000 ATP system supplied by Ansaldo STS is one of the most advanced ATP systems on the market and has been successfully implemented in Hamersly Iron in Western Australia, and the Kuala Lumpur Monorail system in Malaysia.
